I will start my first day of this blog quoting Thomas Merton from page 104 of The Power of Nonviolence: Writings by Advocates of Peace.
“So instead of loving what you think is peace, love other men (and women, my insert) and love God above all. And instead of hating the people you think are warmongers, hate the appetities and the disorder in your own soul, which are the causes of war. If you love peace, then hate injustice, hate typranny, hate greed—but hate these things in yourself, not in another.” Thomas Merton, 1962
In, The Prophetic Imagination, by Walter Brueggemann:
“prophetic faith in a flat, confrontational mode, without imagination, is a non-starter.” (2001)
I want to see some humor and imagination……………(peacejusticelove).
Life As I See It Now (July 7, 2009, about 4:30 PM)
In the mucky, muck of life, my dog just threw up,
I have dinner to think about,
I am in the waning part of my day,
yet have another event to go to this evening,
tomorrow is another day, I will live in the moment of today,
piece, by piece, peace, by peace.
I hope to blog in the morning…………….
