I just read a post on my Facebook from Brian McLaren (one of my favorite theologians) and he asked how many women have women theologians in their bookcases that they have read? Some women put, “none.”

This got me to look into my personal library bookcases (read or skimmed most of these) and here is what I found so far (and there are some I cannot retrieve right now):

2) Inner Peace for Busy Women, by Joan Borysenko

4) The Monastery of the Heart: An Invitation to a Meaningful Life, Joan Chittister

5) Sacred Voices: Essential Women’s Wisdom Through the Ages, editor Mary Ford-Grabowsky

6) Hildegard of Bingen: A Saint for Our Times (not written by a woman theologian but a man theologian Matthew Fox-former Catholic, now Episcopalian)

7) When the Heart Waits: Spiritual Direction for Life’s Sacred Questions, Sue Monk Kidd

8) Iona Dreaming: The Healing Power of Place: A Memoir, Clare Cooper Marcus

9) The Cloister Walk, Kathleen Norris

10) Thirst (poems) by Mary Oliver

11) Soul Sisters: The Five Sacred Qualities of a Woman’s Soul, Pythia Peay

12) In the Sanctuary of Women: A Companion for Reflection & Prayer, Jan L. Richardson

13) Sacred Journeys: A Woman’s Book of Daily Prayer, Jan L. Richardson
