“Them that’s got shall get,
Them that’s not shall lose
So the Bible says,
And it still is news
Mama may have, And papa may have
God bless the child that’s got his own
Well that’s got his own
And the strong seem to get more,
While the weak one’s fade
Empty pockets don’t,
Ever make the grade
“cause mama may have,
And papa may have
God bless the child that’s got his own,That’s got his own
And when ya got money, ya got lots of friends,
Crowdin’ ’round your door
When the money’s gone,
And all your spendin’ ends,
They won’t be ’round anymore.
And rich relations may give you,
A crust of bread and such
You can help yourself,
But don’t take too much
Mama may have, and papa may have
God bless the child that’s got his own…………(thanks to Blood, Sweat, Tears song)
Music, lyrics, and a man named Jesus inspire me to think about such situations as poverty.
Childhood poverty in the USA has risen.
What is the answer to create a beloved community that makes sure no child lives in poverty
In one of the richest countries in the world?
Does it have something to to with power and position in society?
What is the likelihood that a child in 2015 living in poverty with have a chance to get out of poverty?
Faith based community organizing groups in solidarity with people in the margins have some ideas based on the people at the base of society.
Will you join with me and faith based community organizing groups to make some waves of progress toward less poverty?
What is your special talent(s) and how will you use them to grow our communities out of poverty?
