When I walked around campus, the girls smiled, those who were not so polite laughed out loud!

Get over yourself, there are many people in the world besides only you.

I love you, but I don’t like your behavior.

People who beat their children do not have creativity and patience to calmly teach their child discipline by taking away privileges, they rush to impatient cruelty. They teach violence against one who is less powerful and smaller than themselves.

People treat you how you want to be treated if you have agency about you and confidence.

Eat good nutritious meals and take your vitamins, get enough rest, and exercise daily.

It takes great listening skills and patience to be a good parent.

I now appreciate my parents more than ever before, now that I am a parent.

Accept people for both their limitations and their gifts, everyone has both.

Look for the good in people.

If you are always looking for evil you will find it, look for good, do good in your community.

He is so serious, he was born with a cigar in his mouth and worrying about taxes.

We are too soon old, and too late smart (translation from German dialect from Amish-Anabaptist).

Stay away from violent people.

Do not use violent speech.

Guns are for hunting in order to put meat on the table to eat, not for killing your neighbor.  Gun safety training is crucial. Try to make everyone your neighbor. But realize that some people will not allow this, so move on.

Don’t beat a dead horse.

When you lose a person’s trust, it will take three times (at least) for them to ever trust you again. So be trustworthy.

Stay away from gossips.

Keep your cards close to your chest.

Make new friends but keep the old, one is silver and the other is gold.

Allow yourself time to grieve, like Ecclesiastes states and then move on only when you are fully ready, but don’t get caught forever wallowing in grief. Your loved one would not want that. Honor your loved one by telling his or her stories.

Don’t get snowed by empty promises that are coming from a snake in the grass. A snake bites with venom, because that is his nature.

There is enough to go around so that everyone has shelter, food, clothing, health. Know Micah 6:8 What does the Lord require of you, but to do justice, and love kindness, and walk humbly with your God?”

Build up, do not tear down. Don’t build so many walls, build bridges instead.
